Miles Halter leaves his family and uninteresting life in Florida, inspired by a famous poet, to search for The Great Perhaps, a possible more interesting life at Culver Creek Boarding School in Alabama, where he would have friends and perhaps a more exciting and eventfull life, with interesting people. -
128 Days Before- Miles' first step to independence
Miles arrives at Culver Creek Boarding school and with his parents' help, he settles into his unwanted, unairconditioned dorm room. One last warning from his caring parents about drugs, alchohol and smoking and he leaves his parents behind and starts his first day of independence, meeting his new roommate, Chip Martin, also known as the army-looking,geographical-talented "Colonel",and the influential Alaska, who persuades Miles to buy his first pack of cigarettes and smoke for the first time. -
127 Days Before- "The Swim in the Lake"
Miles meets Takumi and "The Eagle", and he later learns that Alaska's roommate, Marya and her boyfriend Paul got kicked out of school for "The Trifecta" event, with The Weekday arriors suspiciously believing someone had ratted their members...
Looking for revenge on the Colonel, three mysterous members of The Weekday Warriors kidnapped Miles, ductaped him and threw him in the Fake Beach lake, with the ability of floating, saving him from his drowning death. -
126 Days Before- Its WAR!!
Miles Halter started his first classes at Culver Creek with The Weekday Warriors as his classmates and the Colonel's wish for total revenge- it's WAR! Miles meets Madame O'Malley,and old Dr. Hyde from world religions, who influences Miles to take religion seriously and the whole concept of the labyrinth... -
122 Days Before- Paul and Marya
It's the last class of the first week at Culver creek for Miles and the Colonel is "ironing" his shirt for his fancy opera date with his girlfriend Sara and her parents, when Sara suddenly decides that there's going to be no date, and fights with the Colonel...all because of the Paul and Marya trifecta event, with the Colonel accused of ratting them out.. -
110 Days Before- Trouble
Miles Halter is really not focusing on the one class that he is doing well in; Dr. Hyde's religion class. Dr. Hyde sees his growing desire to study the outdoors, and Miles is soon kicked out, with Alaska standing up to Miles and yelkling at Dr. Hyde..later during the day when Alaska nad Miles are smoking, Alaska expresses her hidden wish to die; "Y'all smoke to enjoy it. I smoke to die". -
109 Days Before- Kevin Richman
Miles enjoys his first basketball game at Culver Creek, meeting one of the people responsible for his near drowning, Kevin Richman, who after nearly drowning Miles, wants his forgiveness and for Miles and the Colonel to forget the whole horrific event. Miles and the Colonel don't want to forgive him because he could have almost lost his life, drowning. -
101 Days Before- Meeting Lara
Alaska and Miles go for a drive in her car to McDonalds, where later Miles and Alaska meet Lara, together studying mathematical equations for school... -
100 Days Before- The history behind Alaska's name
Alaska reveals to Miles the history behind Alaska's name, when her parents couldn't think of a name to name her....letting herself make the decision of picking her own name at 7 years old, choosing to be named after the state Alaska, which she wishes to visit and maybe live in. -
99 Days Before- Order in the COURT!
Miles and Alaska, along with their friends Takumi and the Colonel all get caught by the watchfull Eagle, smoking by the lake and they soon find themselves to the school court, facing the jury for their punishment. Alaska places all the blame on the people supervising the cafeteria, but in the end the Colonel and Alaska take all the punishment for the smoking incident. -
87 Days Before- The Triple and a Half Date
Alaska and her boyfriend Jake, persuades Miles to go on a date with Lara. The Colonel agrees to come along with his girlfriend Sarah, and Takumi joins the 3 pairs, on the triple and a half date at the Culver Creek basketball game. While on the date, the Colonel angers a basketball player at the game and he chases Miles, hitting him in the head with a basketball, giving him a concusion, which sends him to the hospital...Pudge also gets sick and throws up on his date Lara. -
84 Days Before- Recovery and Mystery
Pudge and the Colonel are both recovering from their sicknesses...Pudge is recovering from his concusion, and the Colonel is recovering from his break up with his girlfriend Sara. Alaska is angry with herself and Pudge asks and wonders why, but she is closing on herself from others and her problems. -
76 Days Before- Religion and Humanity
The Colonel and Pudge are given their final summative for religion class with Dr. Hyde, asking them to focus on the main reason humans are here on earth and how it directly relates to the 3 religions they studied so far, like Cristianity, Judaism, and Islam. Meanwhile, Alaska didn't join the Colonel and Pudge in Dr. Hyde's religion class after the Weekday Warriors made a hole in Alaska's room while it was raining hard, leaving her entire room flooded and things ruined. -
67 Days Before- A Mystery Solved
The mystery behind Miles's swim in the lake is finally revealed when Takumi explains to Miles that it was Alaska after all who ratted out on Paul and Marya for commiting the trifectia, as a way of revenge on the two, who saw Alaska sneak some alchohol to her boyfriend Jake. Takumi's at risk if Pudge tells all this to the Colonel, so Takumi wants to keep this a secret between him and Pudge. -
58 Days Before- Culver Creek Thanksgiving Dinner
Alaska goes to Pudge's room and Pudge is angry on Alaska for lying to him, but she is asking for Miles to forgive her and later stay at Culver Creek for thanksgiving dinner...but Alaska's wish from Miles is for him to help her in the end of the year prank... -
51 Days Before- The Hidden Plan for the Weekday Warriors
Alaska and Pudge are two of the only students left at Culver Creek and they take advantage of this thanksgiving holiday, drinking and planning the special prank for the Weekday Warriors. While they are drinking, Alaska explains to Pudge about the mysteries of the Labyrinth... -
49 Days Before- Censored
Pudge and Alaska take advantage of their empty school, and go search for porn in people's rooms, planing the prank for the end of the year. -
47 Days Before- Thanksgiving with the Colonel
The Colonel is spending Tanksgiving dinner at his trailer house, and he invites Miles and Alaska to his trailer home, to keep company on Thanksgiving... -
42 Days Before- Regret
Alaska and Pudge visit Coosa Liquors and buy vodka, wine and cigarettes. Sometime later, Alaska regrets ratting out Paul and Marya, costing her the Colonel's trust...Alaska says that that she had no choice to rat Paul and Marya, because she has nowhere to go, no home.. -
Christmas
Pudge left Culver Creek for the Christmas holidays, and he is mostly preparing for exams in those 2 weeks..but also taking time to enjoy the festive season and to truly appreaciate his loving family.. -
8 Days Before- The Pre-Prank
Alaska, the Colonel and Pudge spend their weekend after the Cristmas holidays, in a barn planning their Pre-Prank that would throw off the Eagle..so when the real prank will take place at the end of the year, he wouldn't even expect it...Pudge is excluded from the planning of the prank and pre-prank, so he will not go into problems with the Eagle. -
3 Days Before- The Fake Prank Unfolding..
With carefull planning at the barn while Pudge was finishing his religion class summative, the team of pranksters finally put all that hard planning into action; Pudge and Takumi distract the Eagle with the firecrackers, Lara is taking revenge on the Weekday Warriors by switching their hair gel with industrial blue dye and Alaska is creating false report cards that will be send to the Weekday Warriors's parents, saying they failed class. -
2 Days Before- Her mother's death
Alaska reveals to Pudge the day when her mother collapsed from a sickness called Aneurysm and she was so young that she didn't know what to do, no even call 911...and regreting the day she couldn't help her mom. That night in the barn, Pudge and Lara hold hands and kiss, with Lara's wish to be Pudge's boyfriend. Pudge also goes to move on Alaska, ending up sleeping in her sleeping bag. -
The Last Day
Alaska and Pudge play the dare game where Alaska dares him to hook up with her, and they kiss and then Alaska leaves the room...returning later in the night to tell the Colonel and Miles that she forgot her mother's death anniversary was the same day, and she persuades the Colonel and Pudge to create a diversion for the Eagle so she can drive out of Culver Creek. -
The Day After
Every student is gathered at the Culver Creek gymnasium as the Eagle announces the shocking news; Alaska's death in a car crash, last night...yesterday was the last time Miles saw Alaska alive, and he regrets letting her go... -
2 Days Later- Pudge's Nightmare
Everyone is upset over Alaska's sudden death and the Colonel and Pudge can't seem to get over her death, blaming themselves for her death. The Colonel goes on a walk to relieve himself of the stress caused, and Miles calls his parents to tell them of Alaska's death. Later in the same night, Miles has a nightmare about Alaska showing up in his room and dying in front of him. -
6 Days After- Alaska's Funeral
Everyone at Culver Creek go to Alaska's funeral to show respect for her, including the Colonel and Miles..Miles saw that Alaska wished for no one to see her face when she died, having a closed casket... -
7 Days After- The General and his Labyrinth
The Colonel and Pudge search Alaska's room clean, so her aunt wouldn't find anything wrong when she come to pick up her things..while searching Alaska's room, Pudge finds a book called "The General and his Labyrinth" and inside the cover was written "Straight and Fast". After reading that note, Pudge and the Colonel realize that maybe her whole car accident wasn't an accident at all... -
8 Days After- The Labyrinth
Pudge discovers that Alaska's summative question for Religion class was "How will we ever get out of this labyrinth of suffering?"...this suggests to us that Alaska was probably unhappy with her life and wanted it all to end... -
9 Days After- Questions Unanswered
Alaska's death was so sudden and mysterious that the Colonel and Pudge put their big brains into philosophical questions, to try desperatelly and in vain to answer the unanswered questions in Alaska's death.. -
13 Days After- A visit to the Police
With their still consfused minds, Pudge and the Colonel take a stroll at the Police station in Alabama, to look for clues regarding Alaska's sudden and mysterious death. When they get to the Police station, they find from the Police officers who were there at Alaska's death scene, that a bouquet of white tulips were found in the car... this can show the reader that Alaska died in the car accident, while she was on her way to her mother's grave to remenber her death... -
27 Days Later- The Drunkness Test
Pudge and the Colonel go into the Eagle's room and steal the breathalyzer to use it on the deceased Alaska, to see if Alaska was drunk at the scene of the car crash. -
29 Days After- Time to clear some things up
The Colonel makes a call to Alaska's boyfriend, Jake, to see if Alaska's reason to why she died, involved her and her boyfriend Jake getting into a fight and Alaska being so angry that she would plan her own death... Jake agrees that he didn't fight with Alaska on the day she died and that couldn't have been the reason that triggered her death... -
62 Days Later- Daisies and a payphone
Pudge is surprized to find Alaska's drawing of daisies in the payphone cabin, suddently realizing that Alaska left to commemorate her mother.. Alaska left to visit her mother's grave, looking at the daisies drawn and remembering how her mother used to put daisies in her hair. That's how she could have died, remembering the daisies and with the anger of realizing that she forgot her mother's death anniversary, driving fast on the highway in the night, and crashing into the police car. -
69 Days Later- Alaska's Prank
Pudge and the Colonel agree that they should commemorate Alaska and do a memorial prank, settling in the end to do Alaska's prank. -
102 Days Later- The memorial prank
As part of the memorial prank, the Colonel ask the students at Culver Creek to each contribute 5 dollars to pay a male stripper to give a speech at "Speech Day" at the school auditorium, disguised as Dr. William Morse, then as directed by the prank, to dance for the students at Culver Creek, making the Eagle very angry... -
114 Days Later- Unanswered Questions Answered...
Takumi, the Colonel and Pudge answer the long unanswered question; Alaska's death. They realize that Alaska's death was triggered by the daisy sketch and how Alaska forgot her mother's anniversary death, rushing to the cemetery and colliding with the intersecting police car...dying on impact. -
136 Days Later- A long Mystery Solved
Pudge finds Takumi's letter that was sent from him in Japan, answering the long mystery behind Alaska's death, and how Takumi persuaded Alaska not to drive drunk to her mother's grave and just wait until tomorrow...Takumi feels really rotten that he didn't tell Pudge and the Colonel about Alaska. It's the end of the school year, it's summer and Pudge finally figures out his way out of the Labyrinth, "writting his way out of the Labyrinth"...
