Trying to go around all the waterfalls was to strong for their boat so they abandoned it. They were later given horses from the Walla Walla Tribe.

Reuniting after Clark "accidently" shot Lewis in the leg they began their journey home on the Missouri River.

Two years, four months, and ten days after they left they returned and were considered heroes.
