The encounter with the Oto and Missouri Natives went well

Sioux grew threating, Clark drew his sword and Lewis aimed the swivel gun toward them. Both side pulled back, but the meeting had not went as planned leaving behind a potential enemy.

Lewis was unimpressed with the grizzly bear until he and his men spotted a pair. They wounded one, but it escaped. The other bear chased Lewis for 80 yards before he and his men killed it.

The captains thought the southern branch was the right way, but the crew was convinced the northern branch was. So Lewis took three men with him down the southern branch to find it was indeed the right way.

Lewis is the first white man to see the great falls of the Missouri River

They finally spotted a shoshone Indian. The indian led them to his chief, which happen to be Sacagawea's brother. With Sacagawea being a translater they began to trade with the natives for horses.

They came to large body of water what Clark thought was the Ocean, but it turned out to be the estuary of Columbia still 20 miles away from the Ocean. They reached the ocean about a week or so later.

The men were ready to retrace the steps back, they loaded their 3 dugouts, bought a 4th from the local village and stole a fifth. There journey back was about to begin.

Going back up the falls by boat was to hard of a challenge so they bought horses from the Walla Walla tribe and went over the mountains instead.

Lewis and Clark enter crow territory and set camp for the night. They woke to find half of their horses gone. They did not see a single crow Indian.

Lewis and Clark return after a two year journey and welcomed back by 1 thousand people and gunfire salutes.
