  • Double record breaker

    Two land speeds were broken today. First, driver Camile Jenatzy rode the car Jenatzy to a speed of 41.42 MPH in Acheres. Next, previous record holder Gaston Chasseloup-Laubat rode his car Jeantaud to a new recoed of 43.69 MPH, to regain his record.
  • Jenatzy regains the title

    Just 10 days later in Acheres, Camille Jenatzy broke the land speed record a second time, riding the car Jenatzy to a speed of 49.92 MPH, beating the previous record by about 6 MPH.
  • Gaston Chasseloup-Laubat wins again

    For the third time in 3 attempts, Gaston Chasseloup-Laubat reclaimed the title with a speed of 57.60 MPH, thrashing the previous record set by Camille Jenatzy
  • Camille Jenatzy reclaims the title

    Camille Janatzy reclaimed the title for a third time, racing her car Jenatzy to a speed of 65.79 MPH, thrashing Gaston Chasseloup-Laubat record by just over 7MPH

    The new land speed record of the 20th century was broken by Leon Serpollet in his own car Serpollet in Nice reaching a speed of 75.06 MPH.
  • William K. Vanderbilt breaks the record

    William K. Vanderbilt was the next person to break the land speed record as he drove the car Mors in Ablis to a total speed of 76.08 MPH, only just beating the previous record
  • Henri Fournier

    Henri Fournier was the lastest person to break the land speed record as he drove the car Mors in Dourdan to a speed of around 76.60, beating the last record by less than a mile.

    The car Mors broke the land speed record 3 times in one year, this time being driven by Augieres at Dourdan with a speed of 77.13 MPH
  • Arthur Duray

    It took just under a year for the record to be broken again, this time by Arthur Duray in a car called Gobron-Brillie at Ostend with a speed of 83.74 MPH
  • Arthur Duray does the double!

    Arthur Duray breaks the record again in the same car at Dourdan this time with a speed of 84.73 MPH.

    Louis Rigolly broke the first recognized land speed record of 1904 as he drove the car Gobron-Brillie to a speed of 94.78 MPH in Nice.

    Mercedes wins its first land speed record in Ostend when it as ridden by Pierre De Caters to a speed of 97.25 MPH
