Tristan and Isolde
Nemorino hears Adina reading Tristan and Isolde to her workers. This convinces him that in order to win Adina's love, he has to find a magic potion -
Sergeant Belcore
Sergeant Belcore comes with his regiments and courts Adina in public. This prompts Nemorino to profess his love for her in private, in which she states she wants a new lover every day of her life. But, Nemorino claims his love will never change -
Quack Doctor
Dulcamara shows up and is selling his "potions". Nemorino inquires if he sells a love potion. Dulcamara sells Nemorino a bottle of the cure-all, but this was in fact just a bottle of cheap wine -
Elixer
Nemorino drinks the potion, which will take 24 hours to work, and becomes drunk off the wine. He confronts Adina but she becomes annoyed with him and when Belcore returns with a proposal, she promises to marry Belcore in six days to give Nemorino a lesson -
Wedding
Act 2 starts out in the midst of the wedding and Adina is upset with Nemorino for his absence in the occasion. -
Another Elixer
Dulcamara discovers Nemorino, depressed as he has lost Adina, and begs Dulcamara for another faster elixir. Though once discovering Nemorino is broke, he denies him and leaves once again -
Army
Belcore sees Nemorino and asks him why he is all of a sudden so broke, and encourages Nemorino to enlist in the army to help earn some money. He tells him of all the excitement in military life, but Nemorino is only focused on getting another potion to win Adina back. Nemorino signs a contract for the army and gets more money in which he immediately buys a potion, while Belcore boasts about sending his rival off to war -
Fortune
After leaving, Giannetta gossips and finds out that Nemorino's uncle passed and left him a large fortune. -
Drunk
Nemorino returns after consuming a large amount of the elixir. The women then approach Nemorino, all hoping to share his fortune, which he and Adina have yet to know about. Adina returns and sees Nemorino with all the women and Dulcamara explains how he spent every penny he had to win her back. This makes her realize that she really loved him the entire time, yet he ignores her with the other women. -
Tear
Adina runs away and Nemorino caught glimpse of a tear form her eye, thus letting him believe that she actually loved him all along. -
Love
When Adina and Nemorino meet again, they embrace and Belcore sees it. Adina explains that she always loved Nemorino and that there are plenty of other women for him. Dulcamara boasts that his elixir works and the show ends with everyone lining up to by his elixirs!
