The Divition
This is the date of when North and South Korea split. They split into two diffrent areas. The line between them was called the 38 parrallel. It was kind of a boundry for both countries. -
Soviet and US Military Split
A year before the Korean war US and Russia military split. Russa was in charge of North Korea. The US was in Charge of South Korea. This led up to the start of the war. -
First attempt at peace
This is the first time they attempted to make peace. The U.S offered the Chineese a peace plan. The Chineese denied it. Since they denied it the war continued. -
The Korean War begins
War beginsThis is the date of the start of the Korean War. North Korea invaded South Korea. North Korea brought 135,000 men to battle. It got to the point America had to come in and help. -
Condemnation of North Korea
When North Korea invaded the South, the U.N was not happy. Korea broke an article with the U.N. Therfore since North Korea broke article 32 they were condemmed. The U.N condemend them because of there activity. -

Two days after being invaded South Korea finally got some support. The U.S came over to help out South Korea and fight the North. They had to get permission from the UN before they could. The UN finnaly let U.S help. -

The Wonsan Operation
This was an assault right after the Inchon attack. They thought that the first one went so well that they should attack again. Wonson was in North Korea. It was a hard battle at the time. -
Pyongyang Caputered
U.N. forces capture the North Korean capital of Pyongyang. This city is 90 miles northwest of the 38 Parrallel. The U.N pushed them back. They used there fighting skills. -

Atomic bombU.S. President Harry S. Truman threatens to use the atomic bomb against the communist Chinese forces. The war had gotten so bad that this was an improtant thing. There were going to be two targets. One of them was Russia, and the Second one was China -
China Enters
Since the Korean war began the U.S had joined. When they helped the South, the North got pushed back. Then China get involved. China started sending many troops to North Korea -
Seoul Recaptured
After almost a year of battle they are still fighting over big cities. Seoul is the capital of South Korea. North Korea had just enough force to recapure it. It took a year to get it but they got it back. -
Stalmate
The has been going on for almost a year now. No one is pushing anybody back. They are stuck in trenches fighting. They are fighing over the 38 parrallel -
The War Ends
The War EndsThis was a battle over two countries that could of been solved easily. That easyness turned into going to war. After three years of battle they finally were at peace. The U.S and the Koreans signed a peace treaty. -
Death Toll
Total dead: 367,283-750,282.
Total wounded: 686,500-789,000. This was one of the biggest death tolls in America. There were also many other soldiers that went missing and were never heard of again.
