From the period that he began his journey to the moment, he reached Enlightenment, Siddhartha had experimented with many extremities. During his ascetic life, he had fainted due to malnourishment. Through this, he had settled on a 'Middle Way', halfway between indulgence and suffering. As such, he settled under a Bodhi Tree.
