King John gave land to higher class people and expected them to pay taxes. They made him sign the Magna Carta forcing him to obey the laws and limiting his powers -

Group that wanted to be sure that no King or Queen could ever try to take back their power and become too powerful. -

The government was taxing everyhting including tea.

The U.S is free and didnt have to follow Britian's rules. -

The government had no cheif executive.
New laws needed to be approved by 9 of the 13 states.
Congress did not have the power to tax citizens. -
Shays Rebellion
The Government tried to take away land from farmers who didnt pay their taxes. -
Constitutional Convention
Northern states wanted to count slaves for tax, South did not. -
The Great Compromise
2 houses in Congress. The House of Representatives was based on population, and the Senate would have equal representation. -
America divided: Federalists and Anti-federalists
Federalists- Supported the constitution as it was written.
Anti-Federalists- Didnt support with the constitution as it was written. -
United States Constitution
Constitution is ready to be signed. -
Glorious Revolution
A group who removed King James from power and gave the throne to William and Mary.
