In Aurora Devereaux's house, where Annaliese Ruben had stayed for a little while, the fourth baby was found in a closet behind a panel attached to the wall with nails in the corner. The baby was wrapped in a fabric that was degraded and easily torn, the bones were small and brown and curled around a fragmented skull.

Temperance went even more west to Yellowknife to meet her family and get to know more about Annaliese. While she was there she met her sister, Nellie Hook; her brother, Daryl Beck; and the people that she had stayed with, Horace Tyne.

At a diner, Temperance asked the waitress, Nellie, if she had seen Annaliese Ruben, she hesatated and snuck out of the diner and then quickly ran off. Later, Temperance found out that Annaliese and Nellie were sisters.
