Kate's Timeline

  • Middle School Sports Day

    Kate signed up for basketball, softball, and track for her middle school's sports day. She won the 100m dash, so she was picked first for the softball game, but struck out at bat everytime. This was humiliating for Kate, her classmates supported her and helped her. Kate had been confident after the track meet and the softball game was humbling. Erikson's 4th stage, Industry vs Inferiority, the crisis is being encouraged to aquire new skills and learning to be humble when not reaching the goal.
  • High School Graduation

    Kate is nervous for her boyfriend to see her in her prom dress, he has never seen her so dressed up before since they dont usually go to these sorts of events. Kate worries that she wont fit in or look as pretty as the other girls. This represents the 5th stage, Identity vs Role Confusion. Kate must learn fidelity and fight to not feel pressured into a role confusion situation.
  • Back on the market or hold a closeout sale?

    Kate and her highschool boyfriend broke up a year after graduating, since then she has had horrible luck with boys. Now in her 20's, Kate feels pressure to find "the one", but is afraid of heartbreak again so she turns down any date invitations. This classify's as the 6 stage, Intimacy vs isolation. Successfully achieving the virtue of love takes a careful balancing act of protecting your heart and exploring relationships.
  • Away we go

    Kate's twin boys are grown and about to graduate highschool. She is worriesome she hasn't prepared them enough to be ready for the real world. Her husband assures her that, though they made mistakes, they raised good men with strong minds. This relates to the 7th stage, generativity vs stagnation. Parents raise their little ones to be strong leaders, never wanting their growth to plateau.
