    Karl Popper was born on July 28th, 1902 and died on September 17th, 1994 at the age of 92. His fathers interest are what ultimately sparked his interests in his field. He was an Austrian born British Philosopher who taught Economics in London. Most of his works were on social and political philosophy. Which he later won many award and honors in his field. He was even knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1965.
  • Publishing of First Book

    In 1934, Karl Popper published his first book, “Logik der Forschung” (the Logic of Scientific Discovery), which is where he proposed his theory of falsifiability. He also criticized psychologism, naturalism, inductionism, and logical positivism. Falsifiability is defined as the inherent testability of any scientific hypothesis. In 1959, Popper published The Logic of Scientific Discovery in English. This was said to be one of the greatest works in the 20th century.
  • The Open Society and Its Enemies

    In 1945, Popper published The Open Society and Its Enemies. Within this he criticized historicism and totalitarianism. Throughout this he explains his view on Platos social change ideals and then goes on to name him as a great sociologist, yet rejects his solutions. Popper feels like Plato has a fear of the change that liberal democracies bring about.
