Josi's dad takes her to meet his friends the sea lions. He protects some pups from a shark.

Josi and her dad swim to visit Tandau, after reaching the krill beds.

Josi begins her Lonely Cruise. She meets a pod of dolphins along the way.

Josi saves the whalers, after being cut by one of their harpoons.

Josi takes her Plunge. She hears the Great Whale singing to her.

Josi meets Marioso. They meet a few whale pods before parting ways. Then Josi swims to the city.

Josi finds Marioso and Kinjiu, the Fin whale, in the lagoon in the city. Kinjiu helps them, and the other animals, escape. However, Kinjiu doesn't make it out.

Marioso and Josi go through a binding ceremony. They swam together and would for the rest of their lives.

Josi returns to her pod with Marioso. She finds out that she is pregnant.

The whalers attempt to wipe out the pod. Marioso distracts them. Tandau is killed when he saves Marioso.

The whales mourn Tandau's death. Marioso and Josi's calf is born. They name him Tandau.
