    Jacob favored Joseph because he had been born to him in his old age. Jacob gave joseph a robe of many colors. His brothers envied him for this reason.

    joseph had a dream that his sheaves of grain stood up right while the others bowed down to it. Joseph told his brothers of his dream. The brothers got mad and hated him because they thought he wished to rule over them.

    While feeding their flocks the brothers plotted to kill Joseph. One brother made sure that he would not be killed but sold. The brothers attacked Joseph, stripped him of his coat, and threw him into a cistern. Joseph was sold to the Ishmaelites and was taken to Egypt.The brothers even went as far as to trick their father into thinking he was devoured by an animal. .If this never happened then Joseph would never been able to be put in charge of so much in Egypt.

    Potipher found favor in joseph and named him very high. Joseph was in charge of many/most of Paraoh's possessions. The only thing he was not to touch was Potipher's wife.

    Although Potipher's wife often tried to get Joseph to sleep with her, Joseph stayed away for she did not belong to him. Once she grabbed his cloak and Joseph fled. Potipher's wife claimed that he tried to make her slee p with him, and Joseph was thrown in jail. If this never happened then he would never would have been able to be in charge of the drought later to come.

    The cupbearer had a dream that was reoccuring after he had been thrown into jail. Joseph was there to interpret the dream. The dream meant that in three days his life would be restored. Joesph asked that the cupbearer would put in a good word for him to the Pharaoh.

    The baker was thrown in jail and after the cupbearers good luck wanted to also have his dream read. Joseph said that in three days he would be killed. This gave the man much grief. It was so on Pharaoh's birthday.

    Pharaoh had a dream and needed it to be interpreted. He sent for magicians and wise men to interpret it but it could not be done. The cupbearer told him about Joseph and so Pharaoh went to him for the message to be clear. Joseph said that there would be 7 good years but then 7 years of a drought. Pharaoh put Joseph in charge of gathering the food.

    joseph's brothers were sent to Egypt to get grain. Joseph saw them and threw them in jail. He let all but one go back to get the youngest brother so that they could go. They told thier father this and he would not let them go back.
