    13 Amendment
    This amendment officaly abolishes slavery in the U.S. The 13th Amendment was passed in January 31,1865. The southerns weren't very happy about this new amendment.
  • Lincoln's death

    While Abe Lincoln was watching a play at Fords theater in Washington DC he was shot by John Wilkes Booth. 12 days after he shot Lincoln he was tracked out and shot by Boston Corbett.

    Beliveved the South should be punished for starting the war. They extended the freedman's bureau.

    Black codes
    Based on old slave codes to keep blacks in conditions to close slavery.
  • Ku Klux Klan

    Ku Klux Klan
    They wore white sheet over themselves to hide there identity and try to scare people. The gang sort of died out after the 1870s. The people killed and slaughter black people.

    The 14th Amendment grants every person born in the U.S is consitdered a U.S. citizen. The amendment was passed in July of 1868.

    Ulyesses S. Grant was the 18th President. He was 46 year old when he was elected. Before he was president he was a general for the south durring the civil war.
  • Andrew Johnson

    Andrew Johnson
    He was the 17th president. He was the Vice President for Abe Linclon but when he was killed Adrew Johnson took over the job. He was presidne from 1865 to 1869.
  • 15th Amendment

    15th Amendment
    The 15th amendment is about protecting the rights of voters. Which means that the U.S. Gov. could not take the right of voting away from someone. This amendment was ratified on

    Febuary 3,1870.
  • Confederate States re-join the union

    Confederate States re-join the union
    Most of all the Southern rebeling states re joined the union after loosing the Civil War. The only thing they had to do before they were able to re-join was become a free sate. After they did that the southern states were able to re-join the Union.

    The government pardoned all the confederate politions after the Civil War. It also removed all voting restrictions in the south.

    Congress dicideed that hayes won. The goverment would give more aid to sthe south. Rebulicans decided to remove all the troops from the south.

    Local laws probiting the black people to do the same things as the white people. Black people have segragation in public places such as schools and parks.
  • Plessy Vs. Fergusion

    Plessy Vs. Fergusion
    This case was a supreme court case. The final ruling was that segregation was allowed as long as africans were allowed in public places. This angered African Americans.
