  • The Day Jaycee was Kidnapped

    Jaycee was followed up the road to her bus stop by a suspicious vehicle. The driver rolls up beside her, rolls down the window, and tazers her. Jaycee attempts to get away, but her attacker hauls her into the backseat of his car and drives away. He takes her far away into a house in dirty neighborhood. She was taken into the house, but after her captor makes her shower she is taken to a smaller room outside of the house. He handcuffs her and leaves, only coming back once a day to feed her.
  • The First Time Jaycee was Raped

    Jaycee is greeted by her captor with a milkshake, but he tells her she can't have it until they are "done". The man undresses and forces himself upon her while she lies helpless and handcuffed on the floor. After the man is done, Jaycee is filled with thoughts of confusion and horror. Little did she know that wouldn't be the last time.
  • Jaycee Meets Nancy

    Jaycee's captor, who's name was found to be Phillip, decided to let her meet his wife Nancy. Nancy was a little bitter with Jaycee when they met. Jaycee never knew the reason why she was always bitter around her, but she thought the reason was because Phillip was using Jaycee and not her. Jaycee was confused because she would give her position as Phillip's parter to Nancy anyday. She just learned to ingnore Nancy's bitterness but always act polite around her.
  • Jaycee's Journal

    Jaycee had been keeping a journal to write in about her cats that Phillip had given her. Then, one day, Nancy found her journal and read through it and noticed Jaycee had been signing her name after her journal entries. She scolded Jaycee for using her real name and ripped out the pieces that had her name on them, telling Jaycee to never write her name on anything ever again.
  • Easter Day

    Jaycee, Phillip, and Nancy all have Easter dinner together as a 'family', as Phillip says. Then, for the rest of the day, Nancy and Jaycee spend time together. They watched movies all day. Jaycee says that this is the first time they've ever felt like a family together yet, it still doesn't feel right to be around them.
  • Learning She is Pregnant

    It is Easter Sunday and the 'family' is having dinner together when Phillip and Nancy sit down to talk to Jaycee. They say that they have been watching her lately and how she has been gaining lots of weight and has been waddling around the house. They tell Jaycee that they think she's pregnant with Phillip's baby. Although Jaycee is upset that Phillip had gotten her pregnant, she was overwhelmed with feelings of anxiousness and happiness for her baby.
  • Jaycee's First Baby

    Jaycee wakes up in the morning just like every other day, except today she has been having sharp pains. She is alone until about 5 p.m. when Nancy comes home to see her in pain. Phillip soon returns home too. Later into the night, her water finally breaks and Phillip helps her deliver the baby at 4:35 a.m. Phillip names the baby "A".
  • Sarge the Bird

    Nancy had brought home a bird named Sarge. He was a very mean bird, but Jaycee loved him and wanted to train him to be a nice bird. She trained the bird for days and finally got it to where she could stick her hand in his cage without him trying to peck her. But then one night Nancy had left Sarge's cage outside during the night and the bird froze to death. This was yet another dissapointment in Jaycee's life, still she stayed optimistic.
  • Learning She is Pregnant... Again

    Jaycee was pregnant again and Phillip was trying to find jobs so that he could make more money for Jayce, the baby, and her daughter A. Phillip starts a printing company after renting a computer rental store.
  • Journal Entry: Mom

    In Jaycee's journal entry, she starts talking about her mom for the first time in a long time. She's been in her captor's grasp for 7 years now and she says she can hardly remember her mother's appearance. She wonders if her mom misses her or even thinks about her anymore. She wonders if her mom is still looking for her.
  • Journal Entry: Wouldn't Change a Thing

    In this journal entry Jaycee talks about not regretting anything that happened in her life. She wouldn't take back getting pregnant, because her beautiful daughters were the outcome of it.
  • Journal Entry: Super Powers

    In this journal entry Jaycee talks about wanting to run away and live in her own little world. She said she wishes she had super powers, like the power to heal people and animals or to understand them. She thinks it would be a much better life than the one she's living now.
  • Journal Entry: Coward

    In this journal entry, Jaycee feels that she is a coward for not trying to escape. She talks about getting scared and feeling helpless when she is in certain situations with Phillip.
  • Journal Entry: Escaping

    This is another one of Jaycee's journal entries. She has been having restless feelings about wanting to take her daughters, get in a car and drive. She wants so badly to escape, but she can't even drive. She wants the girls to have a life of freedom, not a life trapped in a small room.
  • Journal Entry: Distraction

    In another journal entry, Jaycee talks about her only distraction from Phillip and Nancy, reading. She looses herself in the books she reads to escape the reality that she is in now. She pictures herself as the strong, independent women that she reads about. She only wishes that she could feel like that one day.
  • Jounal Entry: Sorry

    In this journal entry, Jaycee feels like its her fault that she can't be something more. She says she is sorry for everything she is not. She says she feels alone, even when she is surrounded by animals and her "family". She feels sorry that she has not reason to feel alone. Yet, there's this emptiness inside her that can only be filled by seeing her mom again.
  • Journal Entry: Dreams for the Future

    In this journal entry, Jaycee has a wave of hope come over her. She starts to think that maybe someday she will get discovered. So, she makes a list of things she wants to do in the future. The list consists of things like see mom, see pyramids, learn to drive, swim with dolphins, write a best seller, etc.
  • Journal Entry: Hopeless

    In this journal entry Jaycee feels hopeless. She said what's the point in trying anymore. She feels like nobody cares because no one has found her yet. She feels like there is no way that anyone is going to come for her.
  • Phillip's Arrest

    Jaycee is playing with the girls when Nancy comes running in the room telling her that Phillip had been arrested for violating his parol. Then, later in the day, Phillip and his parol officer come to the house. The parol officer checks around the house but doesn't question Jaycee's appearance.
  • Jaycee was Discovered

    Phillip had a meeting with his parol officer and he decided that he would bring Nancy, Jaycee, and the kids. While they were at the parol officer's office Phillip was taken into a room while Jaycee, Nancy, and the kids were asked to wait. After a long time of all of them being questioned by the officers, the officer that took Phillip came and told Jaycee that Phillip had confessed to kiddnapping Jaycee years ago.
