M. Loisel's surprises his wife with a reception at the Ministerail Mansion on January 18. However, Mme. Loisel refuses to go because she realizes that she has no fancy dress nor jewelry. She borrows one from one of her rich friends Mme. Forestier. -
Reception day
At the reception, Mmm. Loisel was the most gorgeous women out of all of them. Mens at the reception pleaded to be introduced to her. The Loisel's ended up going home at four o'clock in the morning. -
Problems arise
When they couple got home, Mme. looked at herself one more time and then realizes that the necklace is gone. Her husband goes back to look for it but has no luck. -

Finding a solution
Mme. was running out of time because she had to give it back to her owner, she told the owner that she was getting it fixed but Mme and M. Loisel's were lending money to buy the necklace back from a jewelry store. She went to the owner and gave her the necklace they had bought. -

M. and Mme. Loisel's spent ten years working to pay back all the money they had borrowed to pay the necklace back. One day when Mme. was taking a walk she came across Mme. Forestier. She told her the truth about the lost necklace and Mme. Forestier told her that the original necklace was fake. She spent years working for something unnessasary.
