    The Treaty of Versailles is signed
    The Treaty of Versailles was a treaty where the nations that won the war (Britain, France, US, Italy, Japan) met to decide what to do now that they've defeated Germany. Their decisions of harsh debt, which resulted in an extreme low in economy, made the Germans pretty angry. This caused Germans to listen to the goals of Hitler and the Nazis, which contributed to the start of WW2.
  • Communist International

    Communist International
    The Comintern, created in 1919 by Russia, effectively puts a communist party in each country, splitting European Socialist parties. This causes Germany and Japan to make a pact against the USSR, which contributed to WWII
  • League of Nations

    League of Nations
    The League of Nations was a pact between countries including the UK, France, New Zealand, South Africa, and more. The United States, Germany, and the Soviet Union are not included because the US didn't want to be in it and the other countries were not admitted..The League had failed to resolve the major political dispute

    The Inter-Allied Reparations Committee decided that Germany should pay 269 billion marks for losing the war. This makes Germany's economy reduce immensely, which makes Hitler pretty mad. Hitler getting mad at the German government is a major cause of WWII
  • Mussolini becomes Prime Minister

    Mussolini becomes Prime Minister
    Fascism becomes the new belief in Italy as Mussolini becomes Prime Minister. He allies with Hitler during WWII, but is not a major cause of the war, but he inspired Hitler to come into power, with fascism helping convince the Nazis they can take over.

    International Relations are calm
    The European relations are calm, without any major problems between the European countries. Agreements are made to effectively calm relations too, and Germany is added to the League of Nations. This happens through 1924-1929
  • Stalin becomes leader of Russia

    Stalin becomes leader of Russia
    After Lenin dies, Stalin becomes the leader of Russia. Industrialization, repression, and communism become extremely prominent in Russia, and with Hitler's and Stalin's alliance help the cause of WWII as Germany and the Soviet Union begins invading more European countries.

    The stock market crash of '29 greatly impacted the economy of many countries. Although it primarily impacted the US, since the US was in charge of a lot of the world trade and market, it reduced the economies of a lot of other European countries. This was a large cause of the Great Depression, which was a major cause of WWII since Germany was affected by the Great Depression.
  • Japan invading Manchuria

    Japan invading Manchuria
    Japan needs more resources and uses this as an opportunity to invade China's region Manchuria when it realizes how weak the League of Nations is. When the League of Nations tries to constrain Japan, and when these attempts fail, this doesn't help the pride of the League of Nations. Increased tension helps this cause WWII

    Hitler Becomes Chancellor and Germany goes Solo
    Once Hitler becomes the Chancellor of Germany, he takes complete, totalitarian power of Germany. 9 years after they entered the League of Nations, Germany leaves, and creates a pact between Japan and the Soviet Union, and starts taking over more European countries. This is a huge cause of WWII.
