The Treaty of Versailles was the peace treaty that ended World War l, the goal of the treaty was to punish Germany for the destruction caused by WWl, since Germany had to accept the blame for starting the war. Germany lost all colonies, had to cut their army while having no air force, and had to pay millions for repairs.

Empire of Japan invaded Manchuria after the Mukden incident, an event set up by Japanese soldiers in order to invade the northern part of China known as Manchuria. The incident was a small amount of dynamite blown up by a Japanese solider near the Manchuria Railway that they blamed on the Chinese. This allowed them to invade China and set up a puppet government in Manchuria.
