Exposition #1-Joy comes out seeing baby Riley, and makes her happy. Joy wants to be with Riley forever, with no one to stop her from making Riley feel joyful.

Exposition #2-Joy was not able to make Riley happy all the time, because that is when Sadness came along. Sadness made Riley cry. She was sad and she made others sad.

Exposition #3-Now there is Fear. He is helpful to keeping Riley safe. He is scared that Riley would get hurt, so he keeps Riley from doing things that are dangerous. He helped Riley to step over the wire carefully.

Exposition #4-This is when Disgust comes in. She keeps Riley from eating food that smells bad, like she did when Riley was about to eat broccoli. She said it was poison.

Exposition #5-Anger gets mad easily and will also get Riley angry.

Exposition #6-All of these emotion characters are part of the headquarters, where they control Riley's mind. She can feel joyful, sad, fearful, disgusted, or angry.

Exposition #7-Riley grows up as a cheerful little girl. She had lots of fun, and she enjoyed all she did.

Exposition #8-Riley's parents were very nice and helpful to Riley. They spent time together and had a lot of fun.

Conflict-Riley, who is now 11, is sad that along with her family, she has to move from Minnesota to San Francisco where her father gets a new job.

Rising Action #1-Joy feels alone, the only one on her side, trying to fight all of the other emotions, that are trying to fight other feelings as well, just to get Riley happy about her new home in San Francisco.

Rising Action #2-Sadness makes Riley have a bad day at her first day of a new school. Riley was sad that she was given broccoli pizza. Riley picked at her food when she was with her parents at their new house.

Rising Action #3-Joy does not like that there are other emotions that get in her way of giving Riley happiness. She wants the other emotions on her side, or she wants to be able to control Riley's mind by herself.

Climax #1-As everyone grows up, we realize that we have to have times that are not as good we hoped they would be, so even though we want Riley to be happy, that is not how she would always feel. Even though they are not the best emotions, they did have good ideas and were helpful. Joy realized it was better than having just her to control Riley's emotions.

Climax #2-Joy and Sadness were pulled up from a tube, after the islands were down. We did not know what would happen to Joy and Sadness.

Falling Action #1-Riley's imaginary friend, Bing Bong was helpful to Joy and Sadness when they were lost. Bing Bong made them feel good about themselves, so they had confidence that they were going to get back to the headquarters.

Falling Action #2-Riley started to feel happy living in San Francisco. She did try to go back to her old home, but she learned that there are always new things to get used to.

Falling Action #3-Joy learned that Sadness was important to alert others when Riley really needs help. Yes, Sadness did make Riley sad at time, but she was a big help in the headquarters. Anger had good ideas that were helpful, even though he made Riley angry, too.

Resolution #1-The headquarters learned that they were all important and they worked together changing Riley's emotions.

Resolution #2-Riley had fun with her parents when they played with her. They had time to have fun together even though Riley's father had a new job there.

Resolution #3-Riley got used to San Francisco and had no more wishes to go back to her old house.

Theme #1-Everyone will run into new things, and it can be hard to get used to them, but sometimes you have to. New things have to happen. Riley did not like when she moved to San Francisco at first, but later on she was able to enjoy it.

Theme #2-I think that in Inside Out, finding something that you like is important. Once Riley started to play hockey in her new house, it seemed that she enjoyed San Francisco more. So, Riley played hockey and enjoyed it.

Theme #3- We need to know that we have feelings, and we need to be able to recognize them. Riley was not able to recognize her feelings at first, so there were some disasters in her life.

Theme #4-We have to be supported in order for us to accomplish what we want. I think this is a theme because Bing Bong helped Joy and Sadness when they were lost. Riley was also supported by her parents.

Theme #5-We will always need to cope. We need to be happy even if there is discomfort, and we need to remain positive. Riley was able to cope and have fun in San Francisco.
