    This court decision ruled that public schools could not deny entry to black schools. Blacks were finally allowed in white schools.This helped give African Americans the right to an equal education.

    A Nation At Risk- 5th most important event
    Fifth most important event. It is a report by the National commission on Excellence in Education stating that American education is in shambles. This lead to many reforms including longer schooling and required higher education ,at least a bachelors degree, to be a teacher. This also led to a higher standard for graduation requirements.
