First a person eats something with an allergn, or a substance that causes an reaction for the first time.

The plasma cell exposes an antibody or protein that will detect the harmful substance.

The anitbody then attaches itself to cells in the tissue, in order to prepare the body for if the allergen tries to end the body again

If the allergen enters the body again, it will attach to the antibodies, which then sends out a signal to the body to release large amounts of histamine

The histamine then causes irriation and swelling to different parts in the body.

The result of the reaction differs in every person. The most common allergic reactions include but not limited to: hives, itching, troubling breathing, flushing, swelling, or stomach cramps.
