The body is ready if the allergen enters the body again.

Person eats food allergen for the second time. This time the allergen binds to the IgE antibodies that were formed after the first exposure.

Signal is sent out for the body's immune system to respond by releasing large amounts of histamines into the body causing an allergic reaction.

The allergic reaction causes the body to respond within minutes to seconds through Skin: rash, redness and/or swelling; Nose: sneezing, itching and/or excessive nasal secretions; Lungs: shortness of breath, wheezing, coughing and/or swelling of airway; Digestive: stomach cramps, vomiting and/or diarrhea.
