    First Invasion
    Toyotomi Hideyoshi of Japan launches first invasion to Joseon Korea. The First Division of the Japanese army lands led Konishi Yukinaga.
  • Battle of Sacheon

    Battle of Sacheon
    Upon hearing the Japanese invasion, Admiral Yi Sun-Shin sets out with his fleet and manages to sink 13 Japanese ships. This battle was the first time the turtle ship was used.
  • Battle of Hansando

    Battle of Hansando
    Admiral Yi Sun-Shin lures the Japanese navy to him and destroys the entire fleet using the infamous U-shaped crane formation.
  • Ming China Enters the War

    Ming China hears the aid from Joseon Korea and helps them by sending troops to the war.
  • Siege of Pyongyang

    The combined troops of Ming China and Joseon Korea sieges the city of Pyongyang to retake the city from the Japanese army. Once the city was retaken, the Japanese army was crippled and began to retreat.

    Truce and Stalemate

    With the intervention of Ming China and depleted stock of food, the Japanese army could not continue the war. Many Japanese began to make their way back to Japan and most of the troops of Ming China also began to go back. This allowed peace negotiations to began.

    Second Invasion

    Peace negotiations fails and Hideyoshi begins to launch a second invasion to Joseon Korea.
  • Battle of Chilcheollyang

    Prior to this battle, Admiral Yi Sun-Shin was removed from his office and was taken over by Won Gyun. Won Gyun and his entire fleet including the turtle ships (all assembled by Admiral Yi) were caught and destroyed by the Japanese navy except for 12 ships that got out alive. (no turtle ships remaining)
  • Battle of Myeongnyang

    Battle of Myeongnyang
    Admiral Yi Sun-Shin, with only 13 ships remaining, makes his final stand at the Myeongnyang strait against 120 to 330 Japanese ships. Using the current, Admiral Yi Sun-Shin comes out victorious.
  • Death of Toyotomi Hideyoshi

    Death of Toyotomi Hideyoshi
    Japanese Daimyo and leader, Hideyoshi passes away. Japanese army are told to retreat as without their leader, Japan will not be able to continue their invasion.
  • Battle of Noryang

    Battle of Noryang
    Last battle of the war, The navy of Joseon Korea and Ming China attacks the Japanese navy at the Noryang Strait. Admiral Yi Sun-Shin gets shot by a stray arquebus bullet and dies, but in the end the navy of Joseon and Ming comes out victorious thus ending the war.
