Homo Habilis (handy man)
This early spiecies lived 1.5 to 2 million years ago. They too lived in Africa and were a mix of ape and human. Although, these people were taller than Lucy at around 4 ft tall. The thing that seperated these people from Lucys people are that they have 2x the brain size. They used rocks to chop sharp stones to cut and animal bones to dig. They were first to make and use tools;lived in groups, wich let them live longer. -
Homo Erectus (upright man)
The people of this time lived 1.8 to 200,000 years ago BC. The upright man lived on the Java islands, Asia and in Europe.Homo Erectus is taller and thinner than others they can grow up to about 5ft.They have tall strong bones with a round and smooth forhead and a protruding jaw.The upright man had a much thicker skull as well.They used stone axes and fire to survive.The Homo Erectus was the firs to migrate out of America.They were good walkers and runners; used fire to cook and ate more meat. -
Homo Sapiens Neanderthalensis (wise man neanderthalensis)
This not so early hominid lived 230,000 to 30,000 years ago. They lived in the Neander Valley of Germany. The wize man had thick bones and a brow ridge; They were also shorter and stalkier but stronger and had a large brain. These hominids had over 60 types of tools. They were first to hunt as a group and to barry their dead. They lived with modern humans for 10,000 years. -
