  • James Town

    James Town

Was one of the first permanent American settlements. People came here for the 100 acres of land (since land = opportunity) and no one in Britain had any free land. Which caused issues with the Natives. There was also a lack of British support or watch which could make these new settlers unruly. (If they even lived that long in such a harsh enivorment.)
  • The Rise Of James Town

    The Rise Of James Town

Death rates are super high and less than half of the 1,200 consists were left alive when the Indians arrive. They gave the consists corn and information on how to live. The consists in return gave the Indian's hatches, bells, beads, copper, and two great guns. Starting the "complex" relationship with the Indians.
  • Major Migration and Start of Religion

Major Migration and Start of Religion

The Mayflower, sailing from Plymouth with 45,000 puritans to Massachusetts Bay. They had support from the British, unlike the pilgrims. • Indian War of 1622

  • Start of Mills and Slavery

    Start of Mills and Slavery

Tabacco became the newest cash crop in the South but it required a lot of labor but at least thanks to the flux of people coming to the U.S and people buying people to work for those people. This caused slavery and you better not forget this term because the South had 5-20 or even more slaves in a plantation and the North only had 1-4. Showing the South was building their community on slavery (which is morally wrong and will bite them in the butt later on).
  • Revenue Act of 1673

    Revenue Act of 1673

It forced a "plantation duty" on American exports of sugar and tobacco with Military force since they noticed America wasn't obeying the Act 1663. America still didn't truly follow it since they would buy the forces to look away which would cause a back and forth between America and the British.
  • Metacom's War

    Metacom's War

By the 1670s the Europeans outnumbered the Indians one to three and the Indians started to attack the Americans. Thinking they won't be able to keep ahold of their land. They killed the hogs and crops causing warfare. Afterward, this causes the British to focus on the Americans which causes them to follow laws they "don't agree with"".

This cause a major disagreement with Americans and British.

I didn't really want to group Acts in the same year but this one is a major act. Americans were forced to provide food, water, and housing to British troops. The same troops who were taking their money for taxes. British didn't listen and kept pushing more and more taxes on the U.S, trying to choke their rebellious spirit away.

Due to all the protests and boycotts for the Sugar Act and Stamp act. The Parliament ended it with the reason being it was that it was hurting British trade instead of helping it.
