The Zimmerman telegram-This was technically a strategy used during WW1. It wasn't used by america but it was the reason they joined the war. America wanted to remain in a neutral standpoint trading with anyone and everyone, but britain didn't like that. Britain made a blockade, making germany mad at America and trying to make an alliance with latin America and attack America. Britain intercepted the telegram and showed it to America causing them to join the war on their side like they wanted.

Atomic bombs - Atomic bombs were the weapon that ended WW2. Japan attacked America causing them to join WW2 and America mostly battled Japan. America won by planting atomic bombs with the power to destroy whole cities in from Japan. America did that so Japan would surrender and fear them, also causing fear to everyone else. Not only did America make one, but a second one to make everyone think that there was plenty more at their disposal. The bombs, Fat Man and Little boy, made everyone afraid.

The Cuban Missile Crisis - The Cuban Missile crisis started when America put nuclear missiles in a country right next to Russia so they could have a vantage point. Russia decided to put nuclear missiles in cuba, right next to America because of that, hence it being the Cuban Missile Crisis. America spotted Russia's missiles with satellites and didn't want Russia to know they saw that. America put a blockade on Cuba so that Russia could not support cuba until they peacefully resolved the war.
