    The sit-ins in Greensboro began with four African american students sitting in a whites only section of a restaurant. They refused to move until they were served and took many cruel things being done and said to them to prove a point. This caused a number of sit-ins to erupt around the country.

It was also said that the cause was white racism so they attempted to advertise for better situations for African Americans.
