  • Constitution Ratified

    The constitution of the United States was put into action.

    Almost all adult white males could vote.

  • 15th Amendment

    People in the District of Columbia could vote.

  • 24th Amendment

    Banned the poll tax as a requirement of voting.

  • Voting Rights Act of 1965

    Banned the literacy test for voters that were not of caucasian descent.

  • 26th Amendment

    Set the voting age at eighteen.
