Labor Unions were started in the late 1800s. They eventually let workers get better pay, safer work areas, etc.

The Cold War included The United States, the Soviet Union, and their allies. They were locked in a long, tense conflict known as the Cold War. Though the parties were technically at peace. The two superpowers continually antagonized each other through political maneuvering, military coalitions, espionage, propaganda, arms buildups, economic aid, and proxy wars between other nations.

North Korea aimed to conquer South Korea and unify Korea under the communist. The Korean War was extremely bloody and led to 3 million death and many casualties.
The Korean War ended with an armistice and there was almost no change in the borders. -
The Civil Rights Act hastened the end of legal Jim Crow. It secured African Americans equal access to restaurants, transportation, and other public facilities. It enabled blacks, women, and other minorities to break down barriers in the workplace.

Once The Soviet Union Broke up the Cold War ended! This was very important and it allowed America and the world to no longer be afraid of The Soviets.

European Union (EU), Organization of European countries, formed to overlook their economic and political integration. It ratified by all members of the European Community (EC), out of which the EU developed.

9/11. This was a huge event which woke up America. It was not expected and around 3,000 people died.

The euro was introduced as an accounting currency in 11 member states on 1 January 1999. The euro banknotes and coins started to circulate.

Obama was our first black president. This showed that anyone can achieve anything while not having to worry about where they came from or their ethnicity.
