550
First Postal Service
We see from the Social Media Slideshow that in 550 BC people were delivering notes by hand. This would have been only walking distance considering the types of travel. -
The First Telegraph (Semaphore System)
In 1792 Claude Chappe had created a Telegraph which was first called the Tachygraph. Pneumatic Post
This was the first post service truly cross country. It was fully underground which is extremely advanced in my opinion, they used sealed vacuum sucking tubes underground to carry mail from A to B. -
Telephone and Radio
Within two years we have two of the biggest inventions created The Telephone and The Radio, the radio became such a large part of the “American family life” people would sit eat dinner then listen to the local broadcast and laugh with each other. Then when the telephone was created all people were able to call yet for a very heavy price. -
Phones
The progressive movement of cellphones became inevitable. People wanted to communicate everywhere which cased phones, computers, web chats, and biggest of all social media. We went from phones that were $3,000 dollars and had limited life expectancy to a $800 touchscreen mobile phone that does absolutely anything with any app.
