Television
The television took the invention of the radio and increased its usefulness to another level. It helped somebody consume the information they needed from media and other sources but at the same time gave them a visual representation of what or who was giving you that information -
The Computer
The creation of the computer was what really finalized the history of mass media. Mass media had already grown to the point where it was something everybody took information from participated in and watched every single night on the television so with the computer you could watch the media and absorb information anywhere and everywhere -

News channels was something that was unheard of in the history of mass media. An entire channel dedicated to listening only to the news almost every night and you could find out something that was happening halfway across the world in just a few hours after it happened -
The internet
The Internet was the last great thing to revolutionize mass media. The ability to communicate see talk to and practically almost be there with somebody halfway across the world and do almost anything on the Internet and learn anything on the Internet with something amazing and I think is the crown achievement of human history
