It was also around that time that the illiteracy rate started to see a heavy decline allowing for this new form of mass media to have a wide influence on early societies.

    The phonograph was used to record sound and replay them. It was used inside of schools, businesses, and even home use.

    The television was a game changer for the media. I say this because you have news, entertainment, and anything you want to watch just one click away. The television is almost directly responsible for the decrease in reading things such as newspapers and books.
