  • Signing of the Declaration of Independence

    When the 13 colonies signed a document which was sent to Great Britian, saying they were now going to be seperate run colonies.
  • The adoption of the Articles of Confederation

    When the states decided to use the Articles of Confederation for the government.
  • The British Surrender at Yorktown

    When General Charles Cornwallis arrived at Yorktown, he expected British ships to be sent to help him. But when they never arrived he had to surrender to George Washington who was the General for the Continental army.
  • Ratification of the United States Constitution

    The day the constitution was first signed by Delware.
  • Shays rebellion- Attack on Springfield Armory

    Farmers banned together and attaced the armory in Springfield in order to stop the government from taking the farm lands.

    When all the states got together and discussed the problems with the states and how they can be fixed.

    When every state agreed to add the rights to the Constitution.
  • Patent issued for the Cotton Gin

    Eli Whitney patented his invention called the Cotton Gin, which helped farmers everywhere.

    William Clark and Merriweather Lewis set out to the newly purchased Louisiana Territory to explore what is out there. They spent many years exploring the land with the help from some Native American's, especially Sacagawea.

    While United States President Andrew Jackson was in office, he sent out troops to move all the Cherokee out to the west.
  • Gold Discovered at Sutter's Mill

    While building a mill in California, James Marshall found gold.
  • Signing of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo

    The United States signed a treaty to gain the land that is now called Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.
