    Baby Mary Kate and Ashley were born to Mr. and Mrs. Olsen. These twins were happy and healthy at birth.

    Mary Kate gets her first urinary tract infection. She does not have a fever and clears up after recieving medication from her pediatrition,
  • Second Urinary Tract Infection

    Second Urinary Tract Infection
    A sick Mary Kate gets another urinary tract infection this time with a fever. Medication still is able to clear up the infection.
  • Adenoidectomy

    Adenoidectomy
    Poor Mary Kate had her adenoids removed after a few too many illnesses. This was a simple procedure that didn't keep her in the hospital long and allowed her to eat a lot of ice cream.
  • Third Urinary Tract Infection

    Third Urinary Tract Infection
    Yet another UTI for Mary Kate. No fever with this one but the doctor says if she gets another one more tests will be needed.

    A big mile stone in Mary Kate's life is her first time on a bike. Soon to become one of her favortie activities this first experience was a little rocky.

    Mary Kate has her very first Daisy meeting after school. This is her first experience with Girl Scouting which goes on to become one of her favorite things.
  • Fourth UTI

    Fourth UTI
    Mary Kate gets yet another UTI. This one is the last straw. The doctor calls for more tests. Other issues of the bladder or kidneys are suspected to be the cause of all of the UTIs.
  • Testing Day

    Testing Day
    On this day Mary Kate under went tests of her kideny function. Contrast dye was used to see how well her kidneys were working. The results showed that she had renal atrophy of the right kideny and only 10% function of the left kidney.
  • Surgery

    Surgery
    Mary Kate has surgery on her kidneys. Her left kidney and some of her ureter were removed (nephroureterectomy). All of this was done at Children's Hospital along with her recovery.
