  • Board of Education vs. Rowley

    . Amy Rowley was a deaf student starting kindergarten. Rowley’s parents, the school administration held a meeting prior to the school year beginning.. During the meeting accommodations for Amy were discussed and an interpreter was agreed upon all parties. Her parents were pleased. Shortly after the year begun the board believed that Amy did not need an interpreter because she was excelling academically and socially.
  • Burlington School Committee vs Massachusetts Department of Education

    This is a case where a family was paying for their child to attend a private school due a disagreement with the students
    IEP in a public school. This was ruled under the Education for All Handicapped Children Act.
  • Irving Independent School District vs. Tatro, Minor Respondent

    Amber Tatro an 8 year old born with Spina Bifida. As a result she suffered from a neurogenic bladder. This condition prevents her from voiding her bladder voluntarily. Due to her inability to empty her bladder she has to be catheterized every three to four hours in order not to damage her kidneys. Which is equivalent to twice per school day.
