    This court ruling overturned the "seperate but equal" ideal and acted as the starting point for desegregation of schools. This event was a step towards the civil rights movement and has helped form the society we live in today.

    Title IX prohibits discrimination based upon sex and finally became a law. It helped give women a fair and equal opportunity in school and athletics. This is another major event has helped to equalize our society and give everyone a fair chance.
