After entering the i3 Innovation Challenge at Harvard, the three submitted their business plan and proposal for an online women's publication with branches on different campuses across the U.S. The proposal received the Harvard Student Agencies Investment Award and soon after Her Campus was launched.

Glamour Magazine presented each Kaplan, Hanger, and Wang with the 20 Amazing Women Award in 2010. The award was presented by Chelsea Clinton.
