Henry Ford was gifted a pocketwatch from his father which he then deasembled. This got him "hooked" on anything mechanical. -
Moving to Detroit
Henry finallly broke away from the farm and moved to Detroit. He began to work for the Michigan Car Company, at the time the largest manufacturer of railcars in the country. He did not stay there long, he got fired after working there a mere six days! -

Quadricycle
After more than 2 years of experimentation, Henry Ford at the age of 32, had completed his first experimental automobile. The Quadricycle had four wire wheels that looked like heavy bicycle wheels, was steered with a tiller like a boat,and had only two forward speeds with no reverse. -
Model T
The first model T made its debut in 1908 with a purchase price of $825.00. Over ten thousand were sold in its first year, establishing a new record. Four years later the price dropped to $575.00 and sales were through the roof. -
