She was born in January 1820.She was born a slave. And escaped and started helping slaves get free. -

She was a conductor of the under ground rail road. The underground rail road was a the route she took the slave to freedom. There was houses with basements that the slaves would hide in. -
why is she important
She is so important because she helped free many slaves. When she freed them she took them to Canada or to free northern states. She made ways to free the slaves. -

Over her live she did over 19 trips. And freed many slaves. She was always freeing slaves because she knew what if felt like to be a slaves. -
