  • Stock Market Crash

    This stock market crash was the great crash that lead the U.S. into the Great Depression. Everyone tried to sell their stock at once which caused the economy to a completely crash.
  • Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act

    This act raised the price of U.S. tariffs on imported goods to highs that had never been seen before. This act worked great for a while, but just like everything else in life, good things come to an end.
  • Roosevelt Elected

    Franklin D. Roosevelt was elected on this day. He beat Herbert Hoover in the election. His famous campain saying was "Happy Days are Here!"
  • Hitler became chancellor of Germany

    In the election of 1932 the Nazi party became the biggest party in German parliament. The president wanted to make someone else the chancellor, but yet everyone wanted Hitler to become chancellor just as he did.
  • Start of the Holocaust

    This was the same day that Hitler became chancellor of Germany. This is the day that most people mark as the start of the Holocaust which descriminated against many different types of people but mainly against Jews.
  • Roosevelt inagurated

    President Franklin D. Roosevelt was inagruated and put into office to start his first term in office. His whole goal of his presidency was to get out of the depression.
  • FDR's New Deal

    These small programs were used to hopefully get the U.S. out of the Great Depression. The basic saying to this deal was Relief, Recovery, and Reform.
  • Roosevelt Reelected

    Americans loved Roosevelt and how hard he worked for them so they reelected him for a second term in office. He did a lot in WWII including moving 100,000 Jap. American civilians into Internment Camps.
  • Hitler Annexed Czechoslovakia

    After the alter of of the Munich Pack, Hitler tried his best to gain as much land as he could. The Munich pack was suppose to hand over the Sudentenland without a big arguement.
  • Battle of Britain

    This air war was launched by the German's on Great Britain. Winston Churchill would give his famous fireside chats to his nation every night via the radio, to try and calm his people down.
  • Moscow Conference

    W. Averell Harriman representing the United States of America during this conference. The whole objective to this conference was to have assurance that the two biggest allies of the war would give support to the Soviet Union to fight the Nazis.
  • Pearl Harbor Attack

    "December 7th, 1941, a date which will live in infamy." This attack on our military base of Pearl Harbor was on a Sunday, when U.S. military ships were docked and "at rest". This was breaking point of the U.S. that lead the U.S. into World War II.
  • Tehran Conference

    This was a conference between the "Big Three". These "Big Three" were Joesph Stalin, FDR, and Winston Churchill. In this conference plans were set up about D-Day and later carried out like they were planned.
  • Eisenhower named Supreme Allied Commander

    Eisenhower was name supreme allied commander in Europe for the invasion of Normandy. Eisenhower also had the highest profile of the supreme commanders.
  • D-Day Invasion

    This invasion was planned by the allied troops, who landed on the beaches of Normandy to push the Germans back. The end result of this invasion was that the Allies took away Western Europe from Nazi control. This invasion is otherwise known as Operation Overlord.
  • United Nations Conference on International Organization

    This was a convention of 50 Allied Nations. It took place in the U.S. The delegates of this convention reviewed and rewrote the Dumbarton Oaks agreements and it also resulted in the United Nations Charter.
  • Hitlers Death

    Hitler commited sucide by a gunshot. He shot himself in his bunker in Berlin. His wife also commited suside with him that day also by digesting a chemical.
  • World War II eneds

    This days is known mostly as VE-day. It marks the offical acceptance by the Allies of Germany's surrender of it's armed forces.
  • United Nations

    The United Nations was to replace the League of Nations. This United Nations organization was to help prevent another conflict such as World War II.
  • Paris Peace Conference

    This was a social event that brought together both sides of the war. They came up with peace terms to put an offical end to the war.
