    Kyoto Protocol Proposed (Agreed 11/12/1997)
The Kyoto Protocol was formed in conjunction with the United Nation’s UNFCCC (The United Nation’s Framework Convention on Climate Change). This protocol recognized that the largest portion of the world's GHG (Greenhouse Gas) emmisions were coming from developed countries due to the massive exponential growth since the industrial revolution. The Kyoto Protocol set international emmision targets that each country had to obey through the binding contract. It was not entered into action until 2005.
