    Jamestown was the first English settlement that was established by the British. The cavaliers desired to discover new land and ended up in Virginia. Also desired to become wealthy and they became wealthy by growing a cash crop which was tobacco.

    First battle of the Revolutionary War in Lexington and Concord which are two towns that are located in Massachusetts. This battle was fought between the British and the Americans (colonists)
  • Constitution

    The Articles of Confederation was the first written constitution. The author of this document was John Dickinson and was written in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
  • New Nation

    Bill of Rights is the 1st ten amendments that were written by James Madison aka "The Father of the Constitution". The Bill of Rights was written in New York City and made to protect certain rights of the people. Also replaced the Articles of Confederation

    Monroe Doctrine, a document written by president James Monroe and John Quincy Adams. It stated the the western hemisphere was completely off limits from the Europeans, essentially saying no European interference.

  • World of War II

    D-Day was an invasion led by Eisenhower on the western front. Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy whilst taking heavy fire from Axis Powers.
  • D-Day Deep Dive

    D-Day invasion seemed like a suicidal mission since they had to run up the beach while getting shot at by .50 cal turrets. Due to the bravery of the soldiers the allied powers were able to established a stronger western front. They pushed through and liberated the places that were under Nazi control. Eventually Russia as the eastern front pushed back the Germans while the western pushed them back also. The Germans were defeated and Hitler had committed suicide in the bunker he was in.

    Martin Luther King Jr was an influential speaker who led marches in order to get equal rights. His methods were very effective because they were non-violent. He gave his infamous "I Have A Dream" speech in front of the Lincoln memorial on the 13th of August 1963.

    Americans first entered the Vietnam War on the date shown but the war itself has been going on for a while now. People that were involved were the Northern and Southern Vietnamese, Northern being communist and Southern fighting against communism.

    9/11 was a day that many lives were lost due to terrorist attacks. Al-Qaeda hijacked 4 planes and each one was destined to hit a target. First two planes hit the twin towers in New York City, the third plane hit the Pentagon in Arlington Virginia, last plane never made to its target because the civilians on board found out what was happening so they managed to take back control of the plane and crash land where no one else could be harmed.
  • 9/11 Attacks - Deep Dive

    These attacks were led by Osama Bin Laden who is the leader of the Saudi-Arabian terrorist group, Al-Qaeda. This event made Americans question their security because before the attacks happened airports didn't check your luggage. Currently today there are many safety procedures to ensure the safety of the people.
