Sophia Amoruso is born in San Diego on good Friday of April 20th 1984. Sophia is an only child. The beginning of a #GIRLBOSS is born and this is where our journey begins. -
Fourth grade teacher believes Sophia has an issue.
Her fourth grade teacher believes that Sophia has something wrong with her, the list includes ADD and tourette's syndrome. She calls Sophia's parents explaining her worry of Sophia's learning. -
Love at first sight!
She falls in love with her first article of vintage clothing, persimmon-red pair of disco pants. She first realizes vintage clothing is her calling. -
First job!
She lands her first job at subway, as a teenager and with her OCD this was the perfect job. Perfecting subs. Although it did not have anything to do with clothing, as a young teenager it was alright. -
High school sucks..
Sophia hates high school and is sent to the psychiatrist who diagnoses her with depression and ADHD. She takes so many pills and decides that if this is what it takes to like high school, forget it. She becomes home schooled later that year -
Divorcing and regrouping..
Her parents get divorced, she than uses this opportunity to move out on her own. She ends up living in Sacramento with a bunch of dude musicians under the stairs for $60 a month. -
Hitchhiking and dumpster diving.
She hitchhikes all up and down the west coast finally landing in the pacific northwest. Dumpster diving for free bagels and petty thievery is where she begins. -
Online selling!
She first discovers online selling and sells her first thing... a stolen book. -
Detained..yikes
Sophia is first detained for her shoplifting addiction, she than quits shoplifting and moves to buying cheap and selling higher price. -
Good bye boyfriend!
She leaves her boyfriend in Portland and moves to San Francisco where she is hired than fired from a high end shoe store. -
Hernia..
She gets a hernia, which means she needs a job with health insurance, she finds one at a local art gallery checking ID's. She than opens up her eBay store Nasty Gal Vintage in her free time -
Nasty gal online gets shut down.
Her Nasty Gal vintage online store on eBay gets shut down after people were complaining. she has lost business and is lost on what else to do now -
New and improved Nasty Gal vintage.
She takes matters into her own hands and opens up her own store outside of the online world and is hiring people to help her while shes starting to see what real money is like. -
The big leagues!
We have made it into the big leagues, Sophia is the CEO of a $100-million-plus business with a huge office in Los Angeles, a distribution and fulfillment center in Kentucky, and a three hundred and fifty employees. This is a #GIRLBOSS. -
