    White primary is when only whites could vote. After the King V. Chapman case, the U.S Supreme Court decided white primary should be illegal

    The U.S Supreme Court ruled that schools must be integrated. This wasn't implemented until the 1960's due to states waiting and stalling as long as possible.

    The flag was changed to represent and rememeber the Civil War. Many people saw the flag as a sign of racism ad protest of Brown V. Board.

    SCLC was an African American Civil Rights organization which supported non-violent protests.

    Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his famous "I have a dream" speech at the March on Washington. The March was sucessful and led JKF to pass the Civil Rights Bill.

    The Civil Rights Act ended pul=blic segrigation and offically prohibited discrimination. Eventhough it wasn't perfect it was a great start.

    MLK Jr. was assassinated at the end of the Memphis Sanitation Strike. James Earl Ray was the assassinator.
