    At the age of 11 George Washington loses his father Augustine Washington. Augustine was 49 years old when he died and left all of his land to George's older stepbrother Lawrence, who became a father-figure to George after his father's death.

    George Washington starts school at the age of 12 and gets an non-formal education. George attended a local school although it is not known when exactly he started school but it is known that he quit school at the age of 16.

    George Washington gets a job as a surveyor in Western Virginia when he was 16 years old. He surveyed land for Lord Fairfax and enjoyed his job very much until he was 20 years old.

George took Lawrence to the island of Barbados to see if he could find help, but George caught smallpox and it scarred his face but made him immune to the disease. George took Lawrence back to Mount Vernon where he died sometime in July of 1752.

    On July 9th, 1755 George Washington serving under General Edward Braddock fell into an ambush where Braddock was killed and George Washington was shot four times through his coat and had two horses shot from underneath him. After a defeat George wrote a letter to his Family explaining the miracle that happened to him.

    George Washington quits his life as a soldier and retires to his farm where he grows wheat and tobacco. Slaves worked his plantation and he oversaw them.

    On January 6th, 1759 George Washington married a rich widow named Martha on his Mount Vernon Estate. Martha had two kids that George Washington treated as if they were his own.

    In June of 1775 John Adams appointed George Washington as the leader of the Continental Army. George was assigned to fight the British Army during the American Revolution.

    George Washington crosses the icy Delaware River to attack the British troops in Trenton, New Jersey on Christmas Day. The attack goes well and the Battle of Trenton is won by the Continental Army.

    On April 30th, 1789 George Washington is officially appointed as the 1st United States President. He had the first appointed cabinet and his Vice President was John Adams.

    George Washington ran without any competition in 1792 and was sworn in to his second term. He is the only president to receive 100% of the popular vote and the only president to have his second term begin before four years have passed.

    After his 2nd term was over George Washington stepped down from office even though the people wanted him to run again. He retired to Mount Vernon to continue his life as a planter.
  • Death of a Legend

    Death of a Legend
    After riding through his plantation in a frozen rain storm in freezing temperatures George got a throat infection and died on December 14th, 1799. The last words in his diary were "Tis Well".
