George Patton was representing the United States for the Stockholm Olympics. He participated in many events including a pistol shooting from 25 meters, sword fencing, a 300 meter freestyle swim, 800 meters horseback riding, and a 4-kilometer cross country run. He placed fifth in the world.

Patton led a raid in Pancho Ville, Mexico that killed 3 of the local Ville's men. It was the first time the U.S. Army used mobile vehicles in combat.

When WWI began Patton was brought with General Pershing to France. George at the time was Captain. Later on in the war Patton was the first officer of the U.S. Army Tank Corps. He was then promoted to Lieutenant Colonel.

With the U.S. in the war Patton was promoted back to Lieutenant General. He then led the 7th Army across the African Desert and to Sicily. Then led the 3rd Army into Germany.

George S. Patton died to a low-speed car crash. He suffered major head and spine injuries. He died 12 days later.
