  • Naturalization Act of 1795

    Naturalization Act of 1795
    The Naturalization Act of 1795 changed the citizen residency requirement from 2 years to 5 years.
  • Alien and Sedition Act

    Alien and Sedition Act
    Four different laws were created to keep the United States safe during the war against the french. These laws were to deport Aliens and put strict rules on becoming a citizen.Four laws that were passed were:
    1. The Alien Act
    2. Sedition Act
    3. The Naturalization Act
    4. Alien Enemies Act

    Chinese Exclusion Act
    The Unites States limited the amount of Chinese immigrants being let in. There were also limitations and restrictions for current immigrants.

    The 14th amendment granted citizenship for all born in the U.S. This included freed slaves and had equal protection under the law.

    Arizona becomes the 48th state on February 14th, 1912.
