    Time.comIn 1975,after Nolen Bushnell founds Atari,the company comes out with its first big arcade game "Pong".Equivlent to pingpong or table tennis Pong skyrocketed Atari,becoming the household name status.

    Time.comAfter realizing a single gaming console's popularity Atari begins working on a cartridge based system,the project was known as Stella,that could play multiple games.But after Bushnell sells Atari to Warner Communications in 1976,Warner delays the project.The Atari VCS is later renamed the Atari 2600and released in 1977 becoming a huge success with games like Space Invaders,Breakout,Missile Command,and Combat
