    The events at Fort Duquesne marked the first major event in the French and Indian War. Fort Duquesne was a fort established by the French in 1754.The British again attempted to take Fort Duquesne in 1755, but were defeated by the French at the Battle of Monogahela.

    The French attacked Fort Necessity on July 3, 1754.The Battle of Fort Necessity is also called the Battle of the Great Meadows. A large French reprisal force attacked Fort Necessity and forced Washington to surrender on July 4.George Washington's only military surrender.This battle contributed to a series of military escalations that resulted in the global Seven Years' War.

    The Battle of Lake George was fought on September 8, 1755.The battle started when French and Indian forces ambushed a group of Massachusetts and Connecticut regiments on a road between Lake George and Ft. Edward. This battle was the british first important victory over the french. Two year later the french reclaimed the area in the battle of Fort William Henry.

He first captured Fort Ontario, then began the assault on Fort Oswego.The French capture this fort on the banks of the Great Lakes.

    The Battle of Louisbourg, in present day Nova Scotia, was one of the most important British victories in the French and Indian War. It marked a change of strategy in how the British fought the war. This war was a pivotal battle of the Seven Years' War in 1758 that ended the French colonial era in Atlantic Canada and led directly to the loss of Quebec.

    The Battle of Ticonderoga is often referred to as the Battle of Fort Carillon. It was fought between July 7 and July 8 of 1758.Fort Carillon was the southernmost fort in New France and was a vital location on Lake Champlain that protected a portage to Lake George. The British were forced to retreat, after losing over 2,000 soldiers to death or injury.The French victory would be short-lived, however. In 1759, the British successfully invaded the fort and renamed it Fort Ticonderoga
