    The war was significant because it provided Great Britian enormous territorial gains in North america. But disputes over subsequent frontier policy and paying the war's expenses led to colonial discontent, and ultimately to the American Revolution.
  • Stamp act

    On March 22, 1765, British Parliament finally passed the Stamp Act or Duties in American Colonies Act. The act was repealed, and the colonies abandoned their ban on imported British goods.

    This new act allowed royal governors, rather than colonial legislatures, to find homes and buildings to quarter or house British soldiers. This only further enraged the colonists by having what appeared to be foreign soldiers boarded in American cities and taking away their authority to keep the soldiers distant.
